I don’t know anything about Highbury so I can’t give you any specific locations but I think there must be lots of businesses and things with really spurious football related links so that might make an interesting collection of images.

oh, and also, documet anything with ‘Arsenal’ on it (tube station, stadium). Arsenal as a place does not realy exist and there may come a day when people dont remember…

The night club!

The night club!

Go pay a visit to the garage. I remember going there when I was 16 to see Less Than Jake play, it was one of my first gigs. It was sufficiently dark and dingey enough to be a punk venue and small enough for a good level of intimacy (with the band). If you can, take a picture of the inside so I can see if it’s the same.

The coolest tree in the park.

Hello. Please could you visit Clissold Park. I’ve never seen it before. I suppose there will be some trees there. If you could make a decision as to which is the best tree in the park and then photograph it for me, that would be much appreciated. Only if you don’t have more fun places to go though.

Imagining silence in highbury corner.

Imagining silence in highbury corner.

I like highbury corner, it’s not much to look at but in the middle of a hectic junction there is an isolated plot that has been left undeveloped since it was bombed during the second world war, 25/30 people lost their lives and over 100 were injured. I’ve never jumped the fence and stood in there, but I’d like to think if I did it would somehow be silent.
So make the dash one night, take a long exposure and by so doing vanish the noise.

on a lighter note reinact the start of Four Weddings and a Funeral with Hugh Grant trying to hail a taxi on the ‘Corner’

and even lighter and non related, Mr. Bean lives in highbury…. so photograph anyone who can be seen to be wearing a tweed jacket or driving a green mini!

What a pretty river… Sorta like the kind an anaconda lurches out of.

go to the new river walk just off st. paul’s road. the river was completely green the last time i was there. it’s a beautiful little quiet chill out spot where lots of teenagers go to make out and smoke stolen cigarettes.

also come to art rocker tonight. it’s free artrock right by highbury roundabout.

The sphinxes beautifully restored.

The sphinxes beautifully restored.

I have two architectural photographs that my aunt took in 1971, one is of Mildmay Park Station, it was on Newington Green Road, could you see if it’s still there.
The other, is of two sphinxes next to a front door on Northchurch Rd N1, if you find them could you take another photo, they were in a delapidated state then Comment by Juliet — July 17, 2006 @ 11:40 pm

Unfortunately there was no Anthony in sight.

Go to Mildmay Road, and, at the end of the road, seek our Anthony, officially the best mechanic in North London, perhaps the whole of London. Ask him about his most recent bike-related trip (with friends or family), and take a group photograph of him (with the two of you) that gives due credit to his tattoos, earrings, and haircut.

Chillin out whilst waiting for Jimmy.

The funniest man in N5… Jimmy Carr lives down the road from me and his little rosy face and velvet finery can often be spotted if one has the patience and suitable camouflage. So disguise yourself as a frozen pizza, sneak into the freezer at the ‘Your Price Food Store’ (corner of Calabria and Corsica) and wait patiently… Do not make any sudden movements, as he will be engaged in intense conversation on his mobile phone and is easily startled.
