go to an old bench opposite Hyde Park about halfway between Hyde Park Corner and the library pub on Woodhouse Lane (A660). The graffiti on the bench reads "at one point during this conversation, one of you will lie". Used to make my head turn when I was walking home from University.
I saw a women taking a photograph of Scott Hall Road From the roundabout at the top and wondered if she was dogoseeing? Must see Now. 1. Many young trout in the Hol beck, leave town by going under the railway station, past the Hilton, over the river, stop on bridge, look towards lock, then look left to see mucky looking tunnel, see where it goes. Turn right after river, crick neck slightly and attempt vertigo simulation as you look up at the new crystal palace. keep walking road forks, you will become aware of the Holbeck on the right . Marvel at the plentitude and revel in the simple pleasure of viewing fish. Lots there on Sunday. Follow for a while and see how this natural stream has been managed by man's intervention, the strong flow prevents the trout moving further up..... still it's a fantastic free Nemo experience and now that you have to pay to get into tropical world.... Must See timeless Riddle. Join canal at Armley Mills Walk towards Kirkstall 1st stop, look at the river and try and spot the local heron. Stop under railway bridge and look at all the symbols that have been carved into the stones that it is built of, who did them, what are they? If you are really lucky you will get there on a sunny day when the light shines wonderful columns of opaque ghost icebergs back into the canal from the shadows created by the big ole riveted bridge. I am really enjoying reading all the other comments, good to see many of us share the same loves for the quirky corners of leeds and yes the Merrion Centre car park steps leave a veritable stain like indelible ink on the nasal membranes, still it's comforting in an odd way, power to the peeple! And the big Cow head on Kirkstall road, the only reference left to the dairy's that set Leeds on it's journey to what it is today. Lovely guinnel shot.
All round Leeds you will see the initials 'TFA' as graffiti tags. This is the work of a group called Time For Action. Take a piece of chalk with you to Leeds centre, and each time you see a 'TFA' tag, add an extra line to make it 'TEA'.
I need someone to find me the cheapest pint of Fruli in Leeds (central - Headingley while probably cheaper is far less convenient). It's my favourite strawberry beer and when i have bought it at Sela Bar costs a whopping £4.60!!! Which is almost a pound more than I ever paid in London. Crikey! Please help. Help me and help my wallet (thought possibly not my liver...). Thank you.
